Utility lands are great everywhere, graveyard themes are good for multiple things with recurring lands, and general land ramp is just what you want in green. The nice thing about the archetype is how well it synergizes with strategies already there. I'm starting a modular cube and plan to have lands/landfall be one of my modules. I don't think I'd have to move a lot of cards to make this an archetype and I believe it will be more fun than +1 counters, but is it good in a meta with reanimator, wildfire and stax, among other things? I'm already running lotus cobra, tireless tracker, wayward swordtooth and oracle of mul daya. There are also some blue cards with landfall, like ], which I like, but I'm not sure if spreading this out over 4 colors is healthy. I'm thinking naya landfall, even though the only worthwhile white landfall card is ]. I'm not a fan of most landfall cards, but I love the mechanic and I really dislike how boring my current green section is. Currently, I have a +1/+1 counters deck in GW but it is super boring to play and not really rewarding to draft because if you aren't that deck, all of the +1/+1 counters cards are sort of just filler cards for midrange. But a lot of landfall cards are cool and most of them are better than some green cards I have. I run lotus cobra, which might be the best one and it is only great if you double up on fetches. Obviously, this depends on the quality of the cards, too, which is what makes me wonder.Ī lot of the cards with landfall range from okay to bad.
